Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Chishang-Guanshan Route Celebrates Launch; Brown Boulevard's Golden Rice Sea Makes a Flash Appearance in Kaohsiung

Taitung boasts unique rift valley scenery and rich indigenous culture, and in recent years it has become widely known and internationally famous for its hot air balloon carnival. To let more independent travelers enjoy Taitung with ease, in addition to the existing Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Rift Valley Luye Route, a new journey route is about to begin - the "Chishang-Guanshan Route." The route will pass through well-known attractions such as Chishang's Brown Boulevard and Guanshan Rice School, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the pastoral scenery. To attract more domestic and international visitors, the Taitung County Department of Transportation and Tourism Development tried for the first time to bring the beautiful rice sea scenery of Brown Boulevard to Kaohsiung's Formosa Boulevard MRT Station, building an eye-catching photo-op installation that is both photogenic and fun, and holding a limited-time check-in and share event to give away Guanshan rice crackers. The event runs from 9/23 (Monday) to 10/2 (Wednesday). Everyone is welcome to join in and see a different side of Taitung's beauty together.

The Taitung County Department of Transportation and Tourism Development said that Kaohsiung and Taitung are geographically close, and Kaohsiung Xiaogang Airport is one of the entry points for international tourists visiting Taitung. Therefore, they specially chose the "Dome of Light," a beautiful landmark that domestic and international tourists must pass through, to present an exhibition of Taitung's pastoral scenes that blends the virtual and the real, while also incorporating the image of the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle bus. Through this check-in hotspot, they hope to stir travelers' desire to get close to rural scenery and inspire them to yearn for Taitung and experience Taitung.

As the seasons change and autumn harvest arrives, the rural scenery of the east will turn from emerald green rice paddies into golden rice ears bowing shyly. This exhibition specially takes Taitung's famous attraction "Brown Boulevard" and its agricultural specialty "rice" as its theme, creating an eye-catching natural pastoral-style check-in spot on site. It not only recreates the local blue sky, white clouds and golden rice sea, but also features layer upon layer of cute stacked straw rolls and a chibi-style Taiwan Tourist Shuttle bus, making people feel as if they are standing on Brown Boulevard. In addition, to encourage the public to interact with the check-in installation art, a limited-time share-and-get-goodies event will be launched from 9/27 (Friday) to 9/29 (Sunday). Anyone who takes a photo, checks in and uploads it to their personal social media within the designated time on site can receive one pack of Guanshan Township-exclusive rice crackers, while supplies last.
