Pingtung County "Autumn · Book Awakening" Reading Market Brings People Closer to Reading

As autumn arrives, it is once again the comfortable season for leisurely strolls and enjoyable afternoons, and Pingtung's reading energy and vision are quietly taking shape. Continuing last year's autumn reading market event, the Pingtung County Cultural Affairs Department will hold the "Autumn · Book Awakening" Reading Market on September 21 and 22 from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. over two consecutive days at the plaza next to Jieshou Library, bringing people closer to reading.

The Pingtung County Library is about to open anew in 2020. The Cultural Affairs Department will hold a "Give New Books, Exchange for Good Books" activity at the reading market site, encouraging the public to donate 1 new book published after July 2019 to the library, and in return they can choose 1 good book on site to take home and sign their name on the inside page. For 2 or more books, they can receive 1 limited-edition stainless steel eco-friendly straw set. The public is invited to welcome the library's brand-new look together and cultivate a reading atmosphere.

In addition, bookstores from all over northern, central, and southern Taiwan are invited to set up stalls on site, along with various handmade activities and specialty light meals. The public is welcome to attend. For event details, please check the Cultural Affairs Department's official website and Facebook.
