Temperature requirements for different flowers' growth and adjustment methods

I. Use the temperature differences in different parts of the room to place potted flowers reasonably

1. The temperature in different positions indoors varies, so flowers can be placed according to their temperature requirements.

2. Near radiators, stoves, and in front of south-facing windows with plenty of sunlight, flowers that like high temperatures can be placed.

3. Away from radiators and stoves, or near doors, the temperature is low, so low-temperature-tolerant and shade-tolerant flowers can be placed there.

4. Flowers that fear high temperatures, such as cyclamen and primroses, can be placed on a north balcony, while heat-tolerant flowers can be placed on a south balcony.

II. Prevent cold injury and freezing injury

1. Simply put, cold injury means the plant's cell sap has not frozen, but low temperatures affect the plant's normal physiological activities, resulting in physiological drought, wilting of young leaves, leaf drop, and similar phenomena. Freezing injury refers to the freezing of the plant's cell sap.

2. When the indoor temperature in winter is kept above 15°C, most flowers can overwinter safely, while when the temperature is below 2-3°C for a long time, it can cause yellow leaves, leaf drop, or even death in flowers.

3. Money tree: when the winter temperature is below 16°C, the leaves turn yellow and drop, and when the temperature is below 5°C, it dies; monstera: it can tolerate a low temperature of 5°C for a short time, but when the temperature is below 5°C for a long time, freezing injury is likely to occur; Calathea zebrina: the winter temperature should not be lower than 13°C; thick-leaved Oncidium: the winter temperature should not be lower than 12°C; anthurium: the winter temperature must not be lower than 15°C, otherwise the spathe will not form, and when the temperature is below 13°C, freezing injury will occur.

III. Regulation of soil temperature

1. In spring, prepare the planting beds or ridges well, then cover them with plastic mulch. This can both raise the low temperature and promote flower growth, while also increasing the ornamental effect.

2. When raising seedlings indoors, the flowerpots can be placed next to a radiator to increase soil temperature.

IV. Regulation of high temperatures

1. During the high temperatures of midsummer, spray well water on the plants in the morning and evening to lower the soil temperature.

2. Place plants that fear high temperatures on the north side of the house or in a place with light shade.
