How to Ensure the Safe Frost Protection of Greenhouse Flowers and Potted Flowers

To cope with the continuous low-temperature weather in the local area and ensure the safe frost protection of greenhouse flowers and potted flowers, the following simple frost protection measures can be taken:

1. Cover the idle beds and walkways around the inside of the greenhouse with double-layer non-woven fabric. Because non-woven fabric is breathable, permeable, light-transmitting, moisture-absorbing and heat-insulating, it can raise the air temperature by 2-3°C and the ground temperature by 1-2°C.

2. Place a stove at each of the two ends inside the greenhouse, and put a kettle of water on each stove. Use the steam produced for heating, which can quickly raise the room temperature.

3. Potted flowers kept outdoors can be buried in the ground, at a depth such that the rim of the pot is level with or slightly higher than the ground. Then place some rotten grass, leaves, etc. on top of the flower pots to prevent the ground surface from freezing and damaging the root system.

4. For flowers grown on a building balcony, the flower pots can be put into bamboo baskets, with some soft materials such as leaves and waste paper placed above, below and around the flower pots, so they can be safely protected from frost.
