Methods of using carbendazim to control diseases of vegetables, flowers and field crops

Carbendazim is a broad-spectrum systemic fungicide, widely used for the control of diseases of vegetables, flowers and field crops.

(1) Starting from the early stage of disease onset, use a 50% wettable powder at 800-1000 times dilution and spray once every 7-10 days, for 3-5 consecutive sprays; this can control tomato early blight, powdery mildew of cucurbits, and sugar beet leaf spot.

(2) Before transplanting cucurbits such as cucumber and watermelon, use 1-1.5 kg of 50% wettable powder per mu, mix thoroughly with 25-30 kg of fine soil, and spread it evenly in the planting furrows or holes; during the fruiting stage, drench the roots again with a 1000 times dilution of 50% wettable powder. This can control Fusarium wilt of cucurbits.

(3) Controlling cotton diseases: use 1 kg of 50% wettable powder, add 10-20 kg of water, mix with 100 kg of cotton seed, pile and cover for 6 hours before sowing; or soak the seed for 24 hours in a 250 times dilution of 50% wettable powder, dry it and then sow. This can control cotton seedling damping-off and anthracnose.

(4) Controlling peanut diseases: use 0.5-1 kg of 50% wettable powder with 100 kg of peanut seed, mix well and sow. This can control peanut leaf spot, stem rot and other diseases.

(5) Controlling wheat scab: at the peak heading stage of wheat, spray with a 500-1000 times dilution of 50% wettable powder, and spray once more after 5-7 days. Each time, spray 75-100 kg of solution per mu.

(6) Controlling rice sheath blight: use a 500-1000 times dilution of 50% wettable powder, spraying once each at the late tillering stage and the booting stage of rice.

(7) Controlling sweet potato black spot: before transplanting, dip the base of the sweet potato seedling stems in a 3000-4000 times dilution of 50% wettable powder for 5 minutes.

(8) Controlling flower diseases: according to the disease incidence, spray with a 500-1000 times dilution of 50% wettable powder. This can control powdery mildew on various flowers, as well as rose leaf spot, clivia leaf spot, orchid anthracnose and leaf spot, etc.
