Methods for controlling flower pests in summer and autumn

Pests: In this season, those with a large latent range, rapid and massive reproduction, the greatest harmfulness, and the longest damage period are red spider mites; next are cutworms, which emerge from underground at night and cut off young stems, branches, and leaves, and earthworms, which feed on young roots, root hairs, and root tips and destroy the roots' absorption function.

To kill earthworms: watering with a 2-5% tung seed cake leaching solution is especially effective; a 5-7% tea seed cake leaching solution is markedly effective. Once every 10 days, twice in total.

To kill cutworms: use a 300-fold dilution of odorless veterinary trichlorfon plus 100-fold dilution rice vinegar and sugar, sprinkle over fresh leaves or tender grass, and scatter it among the plants.

To kill red spider mites: use pyrethroids plus chlordimeform or methamidophos plus omethoate 800-fold dilution, both with 250-fold dilution rice vinegar added, and spray the leaf surfaces, leaf undersides, ground surface at the plant base, and surrounding environment; spray once after five days, and they can be eliminated.
