Do not forget the miners' sons and daughters who struggled for Taiwan's prosperity! An old miner runs his own heritage museum, displaying precious artifacts and photos

"Go down the pit to dig coal, half of life's spring is gone,
half of life's spring is gone, and still you must keep struggling;
if you don't struggle to the death for the whole family, you must struggle to the death alone."

The figure of the "Taiwan miner" disappeared more than 30 years ago. Today (8/10), veteran miner Zhou Chaonan has called on a group of old miners to organize a miners' heritage museum, hoping that the old miners themselves will curate and explain the exhibition, truly presenting the bits and pieces of the lives they experienced to Taiwanese society. In the miners' heritage museum, which is about to open, the above miners' proverb is posted, vividly expressing an annotation on the lifelong dutiful labor of Taiwan's old miners.

This group of old miners' exhibition starts on 8/10 at the old mining office of "Ruisan Main Mine" beside Houtong Station, displaying portrait photos of miners from those years, as well as collections of mining tools recruited from various places, hoping to leave behind as much history as possible before the miners all pass away. Zhou Chaonan hopes that through the exhibition, he can tell society the history of coal mining witnessed by a lifetime of blood and tears, and hopes that Taiwanese society will not forget that there was once a group of miners who worked year after year underground beyond the light of day, making contributions to today's prosperity and wealth.
