National Oriental Beauty Tea Evaluation Awards Ceremony Boosts the Tea Brand's Popularity

Taoyuan Deputy Mayor Lee Hsien-ming attended the "2019 Taoyuan City National Premium Oriental Beauty Tea Evaluation Competition Awards Ceremony" at the Taoyuan City Comprehensive Conference Hall yesterday (the 29th) in the morning. Deputy Mayor Lee Hsien-ming said that the city government organized the 2019 Taoyuan City National Premium Oriental Beauty Tea Evaluation Competition, in which experts from the Tea Research and Extension Station scored the teas based on appearance, liquor color and aroma. In the end, tea farmer Lin Yu-yang from Guishan District won the Grand Prize. It is hoped that through the awards ceremony, Oriental Beauty Tea will be promoted and marketed, its brand popularity will be boosted, and it will earn a place in the world tea industry.

Deputy Mayor Lee Hsien-ming pointed out that Oriental Beauty Tea has quite special characteristics. First, the raw material for Oriental Beauty Tea is made from tea buds that have been fed on by the small green leafhopper; after being bitten by the small green leafhopper, the tea leaves develop the "zhoyan" effect, giving off a unique fruity honey aroma. Second, tea gardens cannot be sprayed with pesticides, so there is no issue of pesticide residue, and it is also completely impossible to substitute inferior tea leaves for it. It can be described as a high-quality tea industry that balances ecological conservation and industrial development.

Deputy Mayor Lee Hsien-ming said that many tea farmers work hard to grow tea leaves, yet also suffer from the intrusion of inferior tea leaves and cannot receive appropriate returns. Therefore, the city government hopes that by holding a nationwide Oriental Beauty Tea evaluation competition, people across the country will have the chance to learn about premium Oriental Beauty Tea, and it can then be promoted to the international stage, so that tea ceremony enthusiasts around the world will have the opportunity to jointly savor the beauty of tea culture.
