Hsinchu City SBIR Innovation Achieves Success, Craft Beer Smart Brewing System Technology Draws Attention

Hsinchu City - In recent years, it has actively assisted local small and medium-sized enterprises in innovation and upgrading, promoting the Local Industrial Innovation and R&D Promotion Program (SBIR), with remarkable results. Yesterday (the 25th), it held the "2018 Hsinchu City Local Industrial Innovation and R&D Promotion Program (Local SBIR) Results Presentation." This year's highlight results include the "Intelligent Craft Beer Recipe System," which allows consumers to brew beer at home and was even exhibited in the United States to spread its fame, and the "Environmental Sensor Monitoring System," which can be applied to solar power generation and smart agriculture, has high applicability, and has also become a Tesla charging authorized manufacturer. Deputy Mayor Shen Hui-hung encouraged Hsinchu City's small and medium-sized enterprises to join the innovation and R&D program to enhance industrial competitiveness. The city government will actively assist in solving enterprise problems and invite more manufacturers to cooperate with the city government to create greater technological innovation energy.

Deputy Mayor Shen Hui-hung stated that the city government has held the "Local SBIR Program" for 7 consecutive years, subsidizing more than 180 manufacturers and cumulatively creating about 500 million yuan in output value. It is hoped that through the promotion of the SBIR program, Hsinchu City's local enterprises can have an endless stream of R&D energy, growing year by year through large enterprises leading small enterprises, sprouting from a new bamboo shoot and rising steadily, allowing the seeds of innovation and R&D to be planted in the hearts of enterprises large and small in Hsinchu City, and moving toward the goals of a smart city and industrial upgrading.

Director-General Wu Chia-tien of the Department of Industrial Development stated that the local SBIR has successfully assisted many enterprises in growing from small to large. This year's executing unit, the China Productivity Center, has even more successfully guided manufacturers to apply for the Go Incubation Board. The program also provides small and medium-sized enterprises with counseling services related to technological upgrading, R&D subsidies, business management, financial consulting, and brand marketing. It is expected that by strengthening core technology and service innovation capabilities, Hsinchu City's industrial competitiveness will be enhanced, thereby increasing more employment opportunities.
