How to grow succulents well? An introduction to the characteristics of several common growing media

1. Special mixed granular soil for succulents
Many flower shops and horticultural companies carry pre-mixed special potting media for succulents, and slow-release fertilizer and fungicide have already been added. This one is a mixed granular soil, combining imported akadama with charcoal and volcanic rock. It has excellent breathability and drainage, which benefits root growth. It is a very convenient and clean high-quality potting medium, well suited to beginners learning to grow plants.
2. Volcanic rock (large granules)
Volcanic rock is the grayish-white stone left behind after a volcanic eruption. It has a very good pore structure and can float on water. Its water retention, drainage and breathability are extremely strong. The larger granules of volcanic rock are often used as drainage stones at the bottom of pots, fully helping the roots to breathe. Together with smaller granules of volcanic rock, it can also be used as a top dressing material. Besides its decorative effect, in summer it can also fully help lower the temperature, so it serves multiple purposes at once.
3. Volcanic rock (small granules)
Small granules of volcanic rock are more suitable for top dressing smaller containers.
4. Sphagnum moss
