Hydroponic Peanut Steps: The Hydroponic Techniques You Need to Master
Not all sprouted foods are toxic; sprouted peanuts actually have health benefits. Research from Chiayi University in Taiwan, China found that sprouted peanuts have antioxidant, anti-aging, and heart-protective functions, and eating sprouted peanuts raw every day can also give you a rosy complexion.
Key points for hydroponic peanuts:
1. Soak the selected white-skinned peanuts↑ in water overnight, then scoop them out and spread them flat on a winnowing basket, covering them with a piece of damp gauze.
2. At a temperature of around 25°C, they will sprout in about 1 day.
3. They are ready to eat as soon as they sprout; leaving them too long makes them less tasty, and be sure to eat the peanut together with the sprout! (If your spleen and stomach are too weak, this way of eating is not recommended.) Throw away any that smell bad.
4. Be careful to distinguish sprouted peanuts from moldy peanuts; when moldy, the peanut surface will have yellow mold spots, and they are toxic and inedible.
Hydroponic peanut steps:
1. Day 1
After soaking plump, whole raw peanuts in water for one day, scoop them out and cover them with damp gauze. Usually by the next day you will find that the peanuts have grown little white tails, which are the peanut roots.
2. Day 4
Dig small holes in a foam board, but do not make them too big; just make sure the peanuts can touch the water without falling through.
3. Day 7
