Who says Japan's nuclear disaster caused no deaths or injuries? Victims: The disaster is still ongoing, contaminated soil has no solution, and nuclear-affected food carries risks

To clarify the truth about deaths and injuries from Japan's nuclear disaster and whether nuclear-affected food is safe, the "Earthquake Country Say Goodbye to Nuclear Power Japan-Taiwan Research Association" recently invited parties affected by the Japanese nuclear disaster to Taiwan. Attendees included former National Mayor of Tokyo, Japan and Director of the National Association of Local Assembly Members Policy Center Kimiko Uehara, former Mayor of Futaba Town in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan, Kurosuke Idogawa (presented via video), and energy expert Dr. He Li-wei.

At the meeting, they refuted claims made by pro-nuclear parties in Taiwan regarding Japan's nuclear disaster and nuclear energy issues, such as "pro-nuclear groups claiming nuclear waste can be reused," "former President Ma Ying-jeou saying nuclear energy has not caused deaths or injuries," and "the issue of whether to open up food from disaster areas."

Chen Hung-mei, chair of the "Earthquake Country Say Goodbye to Nuclear Power Japan-Taiwan Research Association," pointed out that last year's (2018) referendum on using nuclear power to sustain green energy was not preceded by sufficient communication. It not only lacked factual understanding, but was not about using nuclear power to sustain green energy at all. There was no sustaining of green energy whatsoever; rather, it was a false and fraudulent act to trick voters. Former President Ma Ying-jeou's statement that "no one has died because of nuclear energy" was a great shock and blow to victims of Japan's nuclear disaster.
