2019 Zhuzihu Hydrangea Season Picnic Concert Draws Over 300 People to Enjoy the Music

Bidding farewell to days of rain and enjoying a sunny weekend afternoon, the Taipei City Government Department of Economic Development held the "Feast of Love - Picnic Concert" yesterday (the 16th) at the plaza beside the Calla Lily Avenue in Zhuzihu, Yangmingshan, inviting more than 300 parents and children from Taipei City to enjoy the summer scenery together as the hydrangeas bloomed. Lin Chong-jie, Director-General of the Taipei City Department of Economic Development, Deputy Spokesperson Huang Jing-ying, and the hugely popular mascot Bravo the Bear made a special appearance at the venue to interact and have fun with the public. Cao Chang-zheng, Village Chief of Hutian Village, and Chen Yong-ru, Chairman of the Hutian Community Development Association, also accompanied the public at the picnic.

In his speech, Lin Chong-jie, Director-General of the Taipei City Department of Economic Development, said that with the joint efforts of all sectors, Zhuzihu in Yangmingshan had become the third leisure agriculture area in Taipei City. This year, continuing the white and romantic calla lily season of spring, the scale was specially expanded to hold the hydrangea season in succession, launching a series of installation landscapes and tour experience activities, as well as connecting and cooperating with commercial districts such as Shilin, Beitou, and Tianmu, in an attempt to encourage exchanges and learning among industries and spark more possibilities.

The organizers of the "Feast of Love - Picnic Concert" provided snacks made with local ingredients to thank the public for their enthusiastic participation. In addition, at Miaobang Plaza beside the Calla Lily Avenue, installation artist Mr. Li Kui-zhi created a tailor-made installation artwork titled "Nest of Hope" using bamboo and hydrangeas from Zhuzihu in Yangmingshan. Many parents and children took photos with the work, leaving behind another kind of hydrangea scene imbued with artistic flair. For the musical performances, the duo band "Da Ba Xi Ge," composed of Truku and Bunun youths, energized the atmosphere with their naturally good singing voices, and many young friends at the scene swayed and resonated with the music. The fresh and sweet female vocalist Lin Si-hua performed several flower-themed songs, letting lingering melodies drift through the mountain afternoons of Zhuzihu in Yangmingshan, as citizens, parents, and children enjoyed the comfortable and relaxed picnic atmosphere.
