What are the characteristics of Feicui lychee? Feicui lychee flowers easily, with a moderate amount of flowers, high and stable yield, and the fruit matures in mid-to-late June. In terms of appearance, the fruit of this variety is medium-sized, heart-shaped, with red skin tinged with yellow, flat shoulders, a rounded top, crisp and refreshing flesh that is waxy white, with an average single fruit weight of 22.2 grams, and a small-seed rate of over 93%. The physicochemical quality test results are: soluble solids content 18.3%, edible rate 80.5%, total sugar content 15.0%, vitamin ç content 27.0 mg per 100 grams, and titratable acid content 0.10%.

1. Variety name: Feicui lychee

2. Variety type: lychee

3. Breeding institutions: Fruit Tree Research Institute of Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Maoming Fruit Science Research Institute, Dianbai District Fruit Bureau of Maoming City

4. Suitable planting areas: suitable for planting in lychee-producing areas of Guangdong Province.

5. Variety source: selected from a seedling lychee tree at the fruit farm of the Dianbai Port Authority in Mata Town, Dianbai District, Maoming City

6. Yield per mu: little physiological fruit drop, low fruit cracking rate, high and stable yield. For layered seedlings planted in the third year, the average yield per plant in the fourth year and fifth year was 4.8 kg, 8.4 kg and 9.7 kg respectively, equivalent to 124.8 kg, 218.4 kg and 252.2 kg per mu respectively.

7. Planting key points

1. Select Heiye and Huaizhi as grafting rootstocks, and graft in spring or autumn;

2. For hilly and sloping land, carry out deep plowing and soil improvement before planting, dig deep pits for planting, apply organic fertilizer in layers, and transplant after the seedlings have 2 rounds of shoots, with a spacing of 5 m × 6 m and about 20 plants per mu;

3. Complete pruning of fruiting trees within one month after harvest, and promote 1 round of shoots in early-to-mid August and 1 round in late September;

4. After the last autumn shoots mature, carry out ring cutting or spiral girdling on large branches to control shoots and promote flowering. Fertilize reasonably during the fruit development period, mainly with decomposed organic fertilizer, and thin the fruit after the second physiological fruit drop, leaving 10 small fruits per panicle;

5. During shoot growth and fruit development periods, pay attention to the prevention and control of diseases and pests such as downy blight and stem borers.
