Flower Irrigation Uses Drip Irrigation Technology

Drip irrigation is one of the most advanced irrigation methods. It is an irrigation system that waters crops through emitters in the form of droplets or continuous fine streams. Common drip irrigation emitters include drippers, drip arrows, drip irrigation pipes, and drip irrigation tapes. The benefit of using drip irrigation for flowers is that it can prevent plants from getting diseases caused by excessive humidity after watering, so drip irrigation is often used for greenhouse flower irrigation.

A drip irrigation system can precisely manage water and fertilizer for flowers, achieving precise irrigation. It has the advantages of saving water, saving fertilizer, saving labor, increasing yield, and producing high quality, and it is also easy to operate. However, this system has relatively high water quality requirements and poor anti-clogging performance. Therefore, to relatively save costs, the following points should be noted when using a drip irrigation system:

First, a drip irrigation system is different from border irrigation and pipe irrigation. It should be irrigated with "small amounts and multiple times." When using a drip irrigation system, each irrigation time should not be too long, and it varies according to different flowers and planting methods. Irrigation should reach the plant root zone. For potted flowers, it is advisable to control it so that water does not flow out from the bottom of the flower pot. Increasing irrigation frequency and watering less but more frequently are characteristics of drip irrigation.

Second, several requirements should be noted when selecting drip irrigation emitters. Because matrix is mostly used for growing flowers, when selecting the model of drip irrigation pipes (tapes), the dripper spacing should not be selected too large; choose a 10 cm spacing as much as possible. The dripper flow rate should not be too small; it should be 2L/h. When laying drip irrigation pipes (tapes), note that the water outlets should face upward or be parallel to the ground surface, and must not face downward, to prevent soil from clogging the water outlets when the water is suddenly stopped. The filtration device must be cleaned regularly; it is recommended to clean it after each irrigation, and it is forbidden to remove the filter element and not use it.
