Pest and Disease Control for Winter Greenhouse Flowers

Although the humidity inside plastic greenhouses is relatively high, which easily causes diseases to occur and develop, the greenhouse reduces the spread of pathogens by wind and rain, and the temperature and humidity inside can be controlled artificially, so there is also a favorable side.

1. Anthracnose: Camellia, Aglaia odorata, Rohdea japonica, Clivia, orchids, Chinese rose and other flowers are prone to suffer from it. In the early stage of the disease, spray 75% chlorothalonil 500-fold solution, or 70% thiophanate-methyl 1000-fold solution. If the disease is severe, spray once every 7 to 10 days, for two or three consecutive sprays.

2. Powdery mildew: The disease is severe under conditions of high temperature and high humidity, poor ventilation and poor light in the greenhouse, especially cineraria, which suffers the most. Spray 1:1:140 equal-amount Bordeaux mixture, or 25% triadimefon wettable powder 1000-fold solution.

3. Pests: The main pest is aphids, which easily concentrate to damage tender leaf buds, leaves, flower buds and other parts of flowers. After occurrence, spray 5% fipronil 800-fold solution, or 2.5% deltamethrin 1500-fold solution, or 25% kung fu emulsifiable concentrate 1200-fold solution; the kill rate can all reach more than 95%.
