Tips for Storing Flower Seeds

Quicklime storage method: Choose a dry, sealed ceramic container and place it in a dry, cool indoor spot. Wrap the flower seeds in thin kraft paper and tie them tightly, then arrange them in layers around the inside of the jar. Put an appropriate amount of calcium chloride into a gauze bag and place it among the seeds. The calcium chloride should not come into direct contact with the seeds. Once full, seal the mouth of the jar. It is best to replace the lime bag every 1 to 2 months.

Charcoal storage method: Put 1 kg of charcoal into a small cloth bag and place it at the bottom of a disinfected glass bottle. Then arrange the already packaged flower seeds in layers on top of the charcoal until full, then seal the bottle mouth. The cloth bag holding the charcoal should generally be replaced once a month. This is suitable for storing smaller seeds that are not easy to preserve.

Thermos storage method: Put the flower seeds into a new thermos, then seal the opening with white wax and wrap it with adhesive tape. This method is suitable for storing flower seeds at home.

Cold storage method: Put flower seeds with a moisture content below 9% into a container, seal the container opening tightly with adhesive tape, wrap the outside with plastic film, and place it in a refrigerator. Keep the temperature at about 5°C for long-term cold storage, and the effect is good. This method is suitable for storing precious flower seeds.
