Methods for Identifying Edible Mushroom Diseases and Tips for Preventing Wilting in Spring Flowers
Right now, we are in the warm spring season. Some flowers cannot adapt to climate changes, and combined with poor management, they often show signs of wilting. If this situation has already appeared, it should be addressed from the following aspects:
Environment: Generally, it is best to place them in a position where they can get a little sunlight. Moreover, the position must be well ventilated, which is especially important. Spray water on the leaf surfaces of the plants to increase humidity.
Water: Water when the soil looks dry, and water thoroughly each time. If too much water is given at once, the potting soil becomes too wet, which easily causes root rot, and because of the lack of air, the soil easily becomes compacted; if not enough water is given at once, the water cannot fully soak through, creating a situation where the outside is wet and the inside is dry, and the flower roots cannot fully absorb water, which easily leads to yellowing leaf tips and leaf drop. The best method is to place a water tray under the flower pot, letting the plant absorb water from below, which can keep the soil loose.
Fertilizer: The amount should be determined according to the age of the seedlings, and the principle of applying thin fertilizer frequently should also be followed. Never apply too much fertilizer at once. Generally, organic fertilizer made from plant cakes such as peanut cake, sesame cake, and soybean cake is best, as the nutrients are relatively complete, and the fertilizer effect is strong and long-lasting.
Soil: Every year around Qingming and Guyu, the soil in the flower pot should be changed, and at the same time the old roots of the flowers should be pruned. The specific method is: remove dead roots, withered roots, and roots with black spots, and keep the fine roots for absorbing water. The best soil is furnace slag ash mixed with leaf mold, as this soil is loose in texture and retains water and fertilizer. Generally, soil in the north is somewhat alkaline and can be neutralized with ferrous sulfate.
