Following last year's record of 190,000 students visiting the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum, the "Million Students Visit the National Palace Museum" program continues this year, offering at least 500 free shuttle buses, guided tours by dedicated staff, and cultural experience courses. The program is expected to benefit more than 20,000 students.

Chiayi County Magistrate Weng Chang-liang, National Palace Museum Director Wu Mi-cha, and other guests jointly attended the May 27 press conference launching the "Million Students Visit the National Palace Museum" program. Magistrate Weng Chang-liang received a ticket card for travel to the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum from National Palace Museum Director Wu Mi-cha, symbolizing the official launch of the museum culture experience education shuttle. At the scene, they also joined several schoolchildren in DIY experience courses including "rubbing hand-made exclusive picture frames" and "hand-made exclusive commemorative badges," with laughter continuing throughout the interactive process.

The Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum stated that, in addition to Chiayi County and City, schools at all levels in Taichung City, Changhua County, Yunlin County, Tainan City and Kaohsiung City are also welcome to apply. On the event webpage, visits to nearby local cultural centers can also be booked at the same time to form a one-day outdoor education program. Currently confirmed participating venues include the National Radio Museum, the Suantou Sugar Factory Zhecheng Cultural Park, the Xingang Incense Art Cultural Park, the Yunlin Puppet Theater Museum, the Bantaoyao, the Zhounan Salt Field, the Dingcaiyuan, and the Insect Museum of National Chiayi University, 8 in total. In the future, additional venues will be invited to join one after another.
