Where to go for summer vacation? National Park Youth Camps are now open for registration
Summer vacation is approaching. In past years, the summer activities offered by various national parks have been very popular. This year, the national parks continue to offer the "2019 National Park Youth Camp Activities," with a total of 19 sessions from the end of June to the end of August, now gradually opening for registration, allowing young people to experience the beauty of Taiwan's ecology during the holidays.
The Ministry of the Interior stated that the first to kick off is the "2019 Dongsha Tour - Maritime Safety and National Park Experience Camp" jointly held on June 28 by the Marine National Park and the Ministry of Education and other units, allowing participants to fully appreciate the preciousness and importance of the Dongsha Atoll ecosystem and marine resources.
The South Penghu Marine National Park, which also belongs to the marine domain, is also holding the South Penghu Four Islands Environmental Youth Camp experience activity this year, leading participants to cruise through the coral blue sea and visit the South Penghu Four Islands to see the vegetable plots and admire the old houses.
In addition, among the ocean-themed activities, there is also the Taijiang National Park "Taijiang Sea People Camp" special camp. During the 4-day, 3-night activity, the itinerary includes visiting Anping historical sites and culture, intertidal zone ecological observation, a one-day oyster farmer experience, and elective courses on loving the Earth.
In the realm of mountains and forests, Kenting National Park's theme this year is the sika deer. Activities include: Deer Realm Mystery Search, Transform into Nature, and nighttime observation, learning to coexist with sika deer and practicing the spirit of Leave No Trace in the mountains and forests.
The Ministry of the Interior reminds that the 2019 National Park Youth Camp activities are open to students from upper grades of elementary school to college students. In particular, this year a session has been specially planned for high school and vocational school teachers to tour Dongsha. For activity details and registration methods, you can call the various national park management offices and the National Nature Park Preparatory Office. Because the number of places in each session is limited, interested friends should register early to avoid missing out.
