Taitung Environmental Protection Bureau: Lotus flowers in full bloom and flocks of birds flying; everything is beautiful except the trash

The Taipingxi Constructed Wetland, located at the estuary of Taipingxi in Taitung City, is a great place for relaxation near hospitals, schools and communities, where people are often seen running, cycling and walking on the wetland embankments. Recently Taipingxi has been rich in birdlife, and everyone is welcome to visit the Taipingxi Constructed Wetland to enjoy the flowers and the birds. The Taitung County Environmental Protection Bureau calls on the public to take away their trash and their pets' droppings after enjoying activities in the wetland, to avoid causing inconvenience to others and pollution to the environment.

In May, many winter migratory birds and resident birds stop at the Taipingxi Constructed Wetland in Taitung City. The wetland's overall water purification function and clean environment also create living space for various organisms, and it is a great place for the public to relax. At present, the Taitung County Environmental Protection Bureau carries out the wetland maintenance work, but keeping the wetland functional and the environment clean requires the public to protect it together. Recently, members of the public have found a lot of trash left behind by visitors beside the ponds. If the trash is blown into the water, it can easily clog and pollute the ponds. Members of the public have also complained that dog droppings are often seen beside the walkways, which causes inconvenience to other people and pollution to the environment.

If the public finds any abnormal conditions, they can contact the Environmental Protection Bureau to help maintain the environment of the Taipingxi Constructed Wetland together. If the public finds any situation affecting environmental sanitation, they can use the Environmental Protection Bureau's complaint hotline 0800-066-666 or 089-221999 to file a complaint.
