First Community Industry Physical Store Opens in Zhushan Township, Nantou County
Under the subsidy and guidance of the Nantou County Government, the Zhushan Township Community Industry Marketing Program held the opening event for the township's first community industry physical store on the 24th at the Zhushan Community Activity Center in the former First Market. Wang Rongyi, Section Chief of the Department of Social and Labor Affairs, Zhushan Township Mayor Chen Dongmu, and the chairpersons of the 7 cooperating Zhushan Township community development associations attended in support. Community elders happily danced and played drums in celebration, writing a new historical page for the development of community industry in Zhushan Township.
The Nantou County Department of Social and Labor Affairs stated that the Nantou County Government began promoting the community industry marketing program in 106. This year, a total of 21 communities including Nantou City, Puli Township, Caotun Township, and Zhushan Township joined the program. The physical store opening this time is the 3rd community industry physical store after Yuchi Township and Guoxing Township. This year, physical stores in Fuzhou and Yanzheng of Zhushan Township will also open one after another. It is hoped that by increasing communities' self-raised funds, communities will have more funding to handle social welfare work and can also increase second-time employment income for middle-aged and older residents.
Zeng Li Zhang Yuquan of the Zhushan Community Development Association said that the physical store opening is also called the Fairy Conscience Stall, advocating direct sales from the place of origin and good quality at low prices. It integrates agricultural specialty products and volunteer-made crafts from 8 communities in Zhushan Township, such as bamboo shoot products (dried bamboo shoots, shredded bamboo shoots, crisp bamboo shoots, pickled bamboo shoots, fresh bamboo shoots), bamboo craft products (bamboo chopsticks, pen holders, bamboo phone stands, creative bamboo bowls, bamboo basins), fresh fruits and vegetables, tea products (black tea, tea bags, oolong tea), handmade crafts (woven bags, dolls, accessories), snacks (cookies, rice crackers, fragrant Q cakes), etc. 5% of sales proceeds is allocated as a business development fund for elderly care services and children and youth companion classes.
