Fantasy New Strawberry "Lianxiang" Is Born: 16-Degree Brix, High Yield, Easy to Grow, No Gibberellin Needed

With large, beautiful fruit and sweetness reaching over 16 degrees Brix, and cultivable without gibberellin (plant hormone), the fantasy new strawberry variety "Miaoli No. 1 - Lianxiang" was officially launched today (the 9th)! Bred over six years by the Miaoli District Agricultural Research and Extension Station of the Council of Agriculture (hereinafter "Miaoli Station"), compared with the current main domestic strawberry variety - Toyonoka, it is not only easy to cultivate and high in sweetness, but even outperforms Japanese strawberries in Brix.

Wu Dairong, assistant researcher at the Biological Control Branch of Miaoli Station who was in charge of breeding, said with visible excitement that after six years of breeding thousands of strawberry plants and tasting nearly 3,000 strawberries, he finally found the perfect line, hoping to take Taiwan's strawberry industry to the next peak.
