[About the Meinong Yellow Butterfly Festival]

Founded in 1995, it originated from the Meinong anti-reservoir movement, using Meinong's local Hakka rituals to honor butterflies and sincerely apologize for the collective mistakes of the past. Furthermore, we hope friends from all walks of life will join us in the sacred work of restoring the Yellow Butterfly Valley, make your vow, carry out the trash from the valley, and work with us to bring about the Yellow Butterfly Valley Ecological Park.

We hope that through our joint efforts, in a few years this place will once again become a rich and joyful ecological island. Then, the Yellow Butterfly Festival will no longer carry any sorrow, and will truly become a community festival for our Meinong and Taiwan, China, allowing our children and grandchildren to come to the Yellow Butterfly Valley Ecological Park every year during the great butterfly emergence season to join the Yellow Butterfly Festival, admire the spectacle of ten thousand butterflies dancing together, and thank our ancestors for leaving them this eternal natural asset.

Having passed through the twentieth Yellow Butterfly Festival, since 2017 it has officially transformed into a biennial exhibition, repeatedly exploring the relationship between humans and nature through the form of environmental art.
