Should fishing ports be reserved exclusively for fishermen's operations, or should they be opened to ordinary anglers? Recently, angler Yu Zeyu launched a proposal to "fully open fishing ports for angling and fully build fishing platforms," which received 5,086 signatures of support, triggering strong opposition from fishermen's associations. Cabinet minister without portfolio Tang Feng convened a civic collaboration meeting yesterday (the 3rd), and the atmosphere at the scene was once heated. Tang Feng stated that about fifty fishing spots nationwide will be inventoried based on conditions such as water depth and catch volume before further screening, and that based on the needs of anglers and fishermen as well as the room for coordination between them, government agencies will draft measures that suit local conditions and can be implemented.
