A new look that is refreshing to the eye! The Farmers' Association of Madou District, Tainan City, has given its own pomelo product line a new look, unveiled for the first time on the 2nd. Not only is the outer packaging a new design, but there are also new formulas inside. Sun Cimin, director-general of the Madou District Farmers' Association, said the new formulas for the pomelo flower product line contain more pomelo ingredients and newly added white tea and bergamot, giving the flavor more variety. The Madou District Farmers' Association will take the newly packaged products to the Hong Kong International Food Fair. The stars of the show are jam made from pomelo flesh, preserves made from the peel, and pomelo tea and pomelo ginseng, in the hope of successfully opening up overseas markets for the pomelo product line.

Madou's most famous fruit is the pomelo, and it has long used pomelo as its theme to develop all kinds of products, including body wash, hand wash, shampoo, soap, face masks, body lotion, and dish soap, among others. Because they carry the distinctive fragrance of pomelo, they are popular with consumers.

However, for the trip to Hong Kong from May 7 to 10, what they will attend is an international food fair, so the stars of the show are processed pomelo products, including pomelo tea, pomelo ginseng, plum pomelo slices, and so on. What is rather regrettable is that frozen treats, such as the pomelo smoothies and ice cream developed by the farmers' association, are difficult to bring overseas for the exhibition.

Sun Cimin said that this is the first time the Madou District Farmers' Association has gone to Hong Kong to take part in an international food fair. Although the products on display are mainly processed pomelo products, the booth will still feature pomelo-scented body wash and shampoo. Especially after the new formulas and new packaging, they hope local agricultural products can move toward the international market.

March is the season when pomelo trees bloom. Sun Cimin has good news for consumers who love Madou pomelo: the blooming of Madou pomelo was not affected by drought, but the yield cannot be as much as last year. Last year Madou pomelo had a bumper harvest, with output 20 percent higher than in a normal year. Looking at the blooming conditions, the farmers' association estimates that this year's pomelo yield will be normal, returning to the 10-year average level of past years, estimated at about 22,000 metric tons, while all of Tainan's pomelo output is about 25,000 to 28,000 metric tons.
