Yellowing Leaves on Clivia: Pictures and Cause Analysis
There are 3 possibilities: 1. The lower leaves of the clivia turn yellow: the soil in which the clivia is planted is relatively dry; in this case, the yellow leaves should be removed and the plant watered thoroughly.
2. Pull out the clivia and find it has no roots: the roots have rotted from too much water. It should be planted in sandy soil and placed in a cool, shaded environment; after about one month of root stimulation it will develop roots, and watering once every seven or eight days is enough.
3. The center of the clivia turns yellow: this is caused by light that is too strong. Clivia is a medium-light plant and does not need strong light during growth; especially in summer, avoid direct sunlight at all costs and provide appropriate shade, which is beneficial to leaf growth.
In addition, the relative air humidity should be no lower than 60%, and then the leaf color will be glossy. If the environment is dry, the leaves will become dull and lusterless and may even wilt and turn yellow, with poor growth. Therefore, spray water on the leaves two or three times a day, but be careful not to let the water run down to the root and stem area, to prevent waterlogging of the potting soil.
