How to Grow Lucky Bamboo? Detailed Guide to Care Methods and Precautions
Lucky Bamboo, also known as bamboo banana, everlasting bamboo, and green-leaf immortal, is a perennial evergreen small tree foliage plant. Lucky Bamboo likes warm, humid, and shaded environments and prefers diffused light. It can be grown in pots or in water as a cut stem in a vase. Because it carries the bamboo symbolism of "rising step by step," it has become the most popular potted plant in homes and commercial spaces. The more common types of Lucky Bamboo include golden-heart Lucky Bamboo, silver-heart Lucky Bamboo, silver-edge Lucky Bamboo, and golden-edge Lucky Bamboo.
To grow Lucky Bamboo, first cut off the leaves at the base of the Lucky Bamboo, then cut it at a slant with a sharp knife; the cut should be smooth to help it absorb water and nutrients. Then place it in water and change the water once every 3-5 days. Do not move its position or change its direction within 10 days. After 15 days, silvery-white fibrous roots can grow. Once the Lucky Bamboo has grown roots, you can apply organic fertilizer to it.
1. Lucky Bamboo should not be placed next to TVs and other electrical appliances, so that electromagnetic radiation does not affect the growth of the entire Lucky Bamboo.
2. Keep the potting soil moist, and apply humic acid liquid fertilizer once every half month.
3. Too strong light in summer will make the leaves turn yellow. When caring for Lucky Bamboo outdoors, shade is needed; placing it on a north-facing balcony is better.
