How to Sow Boston Ivy Seeds and Boston Ivy Seed Prices
Before learning how to grow Boston ivy, let us first get to know what Boston ivy is and what habits it has.
I. What Is Boston Ivy
The scientific name of Boston ivy is boston ivy, and it is a vining plant, also a plant type in the genus Parthenocissus of the grape family. Boston ivy is a climbing plant that generally needs to grow against a wall or a flower trellis, and it reproduces and grows very quickly. Before long you can see patches of Boston ivy in wall corners. This plant not only has relatively high greening and ornamental value, but also medicinal value. Its flowering period is generally in summer, and the flowers are small and yellow-green, and it produces purple-black berries.
To know how to grow Boston ivy, you first need to understand the living habits of this plant. Boston ivy is relatively strongly adaptable and likes to grow in cool and humid environments, but it is not afraid of strong light either. Boston ivy can tolerate cold, drought and poor soil, so it is relatively easy to grow, and its climate adaptability is also broad. Even in winter south of the warm temperate zone it can remain semi-evergreen or evergreen, but Boston ivy is a plant that fears waterlogging. Although it has no great requirements for soil, it still grows best in shady, moist and fertile soil.

II. How to Sow Boston Ivy Seeds
(1) Sand storage and germination of seeds. In September, when the berries are ripe and turn purple-blue, harvest them immediately. After cleaning and drying in the shade, disinfect the surface with a 0.05% carbendazim solution. After draining, store them in moist sand in layers. By early March of the following year, soak the seeds in 45C warm water for two days, changing the water twice a day, then mix them evenly with moist sand at a seed-to-sand ratio of 2:1, place them in a sunny, wind-sheltered spot, cover with straw bags, and often spray with fine water to keep them moist. After about 20 days, when 20% of the seeds show white sprouts, they can be sown.
(2) Sowing. First rake the sowing bed fine and level, water it thoroughly, and sow the seeds together with the sand on the bed surface, with a sowing rate of 100 grams per square meter. Cover with 1 cm of loose understory humus soil, and set up a small arched shed on top, covered with polyethylene plastic film.
(3) Seedling management. After the cotyledons emerge, the film should be uncovered during the day and covered at night on sunny days, and kept covered all day on rainy days, in order to raise the soil temperature, promote uniform emergence, and prevent damage from scarab beetles. In addition, water frequently to keep the soil moist.
(4) Transplanting and later management. After three true leaves have unfolded, choose a cloudy day or after 3 p.m. and transplant at a density of 1x1 chi. Immediately after planting, water once with diluted manure water (1:8). During the plum rain season, water must absolutely not be allowed to accumulate for too long. After two months, the vines generally grow to more than 60 cm. At this time, the first pinching can be carried out to prevent the vines from tangling with each other and blocking light, and to encourage the seedlings to grow thick and strong. Pinch once a month, combined with supplementary feeding.
