What is the price of an osmanthus tree and what are its uses?

Osmanthus trees are generally short and rare; as an evergreen tree, it has high ornamental value, but it also has high edible value. Osmanthus tree prices range from low to high, mainly depending on the tree's height and bulk.

I. Uses of the osmanthus tree

The osmanthus tree is one of the common plants. Its branches and leaves are verdant all year round, and when the osmanthus blooms it is especially fragrant and pleasant. It is a rare evergreen ornamental tree with fragrant flowers. It is also often grown by us as a potted plant. Many people like the osmanthus tree: some because of its evergreen leaves, some because of its sweet-scented flowers, and some because of its effects and uses.

First, the flowers of the osmanthus tree are a sweet gift from nature. When it blooms in October, it can bring rare beauty to the whole world. The osmanthus flowers are small and grow in clusters, so lovely, like a lively girl inseparable from her close best friend. Later, the flowers can also be used to make osmanthus tea and osmanthus wine. Light osmanthus tea has a fresh fragrance and the effects of clearing the liver, brightening the eyes, and refreshing the mind. And the golden, crystal-clear osmanthus wine is even more fragrant, and its effects of relaxing muscles and invigorating blood circulation and relieving fatigue are also very good!

Osmanthus has the advantage of "dominating the three autumns and overpowering all flowers," and at the same time the unique chemical content in its leaves can absorb harmful gases such as sulfur dioxide and hydrogen fluoride, so it can often be seen in industrial areas and beside highways.

II. Harvesting and storage of osmanthus tea

Raw material ratio: generally 50 kg of refined tea base is matched with 15 kg of fresh osmanthus; this can be appropriately increased or decreased according to the grade of the scented tea.

Tea base preparation: select fresh tender tea leaves with 1 bud and 2 leaves as the raw material. The tea base leaves are required to be tender, tightly rolled, and aromatic, with a moisture content below 5%. When cooled to 26-30°C, they can be scented.

Osmanthus harvesting: for making osmanthus tea, pick during the full bloom period, when the flowers are in a tiger-claw shape, golden yellow, and just opening from the bud. Pick gently, place loosely, and transport quickly. Absolutely do not beat with bamboo poles, so as to avoid bruising the flowers and turning them red.

Scenting the tea base with flowers: to make osmanthus tea, first spread a layer of tea base on a clean bamboo mat or white cloth, then evenly add a layer of osmanthus according to the raw material ratio.

Turning the flowers to release heat: turning the flowers means opening up the tea pile to let it cool.

Re-drying: when the tea base absorbs fragrance during scenting, it also absorbs a large amount of moisture, with moisture content as high as 15%. It must be re-dried as soon as possible to reduce the moisture content to about 5%, so as to avoid mildew.

Packaging and storage: after drying, it becomes osmanthus tea. Let it cool naturally for 24 hours, then seal and package it by weight specification in fine paper bags and composite film bags, and put it into cartons. It can then be supplied to the market or stored in a ventilated and dry indoor place.
