Landscape Plant Encyclopedia: All the Knowledge You Need in One Place
In our lives, not all beautiful plants are suitable as landscape plants; generally, only plants suitable for greening qualify as landscape plants. Next, please join me as we take a look at which plants are truly suitable as landscape plants!
Landscape plants are artificially divided into two major categories: woody and herbaceous. However, some plants do not fall into these categories, such as ferns, cacti and carnivorous plants. Even if a plant is not classified under any category, it can still be a landscape plant and can still decorate our homes!
Woody landscape plants include coniferous and broad-leaved types. Coniferous ones are generally tall and upright, and can be seen in most landscapes, for example: conifers, pines, cypresses and so on.
Broad-leaved ones are generally very common in southern landscapes. Many broad-leaved plants are relatively low-growing, allowing people to look at them at eye level, giving a very friendly and lovely impression! For example: poplars, willows, oleander, lantana and so on!
Herbaceous landscape plants include flowers and grasses. They are generally used to decorate the entire landscape, making it look even more full of charm. Large blooms of flowers, such as Chinese peony, pot marigold, narcissus and lily, are all excellent choices for decorating landscapes!
Some ferns are also essential for landscape decoration, such as Poa, Zoysia, Agrostis, Cynodon and so on. These plants are the heroes that absorb waste from the air, and they greatly improve the air quality of landscapes!
Plants in nature are endlessly varied and richly colourful, and they possess excellent ornamental value in themselves. As long as the layout is reasonable, with well-spaced planting and a combination of single and grouped arrangements, a perfect landscape can be created. The above is what I shared with you today. Although it is not especially comprehensive, I still hope it is helpful to you regarding landscape plants!
