Basic information about roses:

Roses, also known as multiflora rose, Qiangmi, Rosa acicularis, and white remnant flower, have been a fine and famous flower since ancient times. The fragrance is very strong and alluring, and aromatic oil can be extracted from the petals; its value is higher than gold, and it has high medicinal and edible value. It mainly grows beside roads, at field edges, on walls, or in thickets on hilly land.

Roses growing methods:

1. Sunlight: Roses are a sun-loving flowering plant and need sufficient sunlight. During the growing period, they must receive enough sunlight exposure.

2. Watering: Roses like moisture but fear wetness and are averse to waterlogging. From budding to before flowering, water can be given a little more appropriately, with the standard being that the soil is moist but not waterlogged. After flowering, do not water too much; the soil should be allowed to dry and then be watered, alternating wet and dry. In the rainy season, pay attention to drainage to prevent waterlogging.

3. Fertilizing: Roses like fertilizer and also tolerate poor soil. In March, apply 1 to 2 times a nitrogen-based liquid fertilizer to promote the growth of branches and leaves. In April and May, apply 2 to 3 times a fertilizer mainly based on phosphorus and potassium to promote more buds and more flowers. After flowering, apply one rejuvenating fertilizer, and then no more fertilizing is needed.

4. Pests and diseases: Roses can be infected by many diseases, most of which are caused by fungi. Before onset, spray 200 times equal-amount Bordeaux mixture for prevention. At onset, spray 15% triadimefon wettable powder at 1000 times solution, or 70% thiophanate-methyl wettable powder at 1000 times solution.
