Attracting wealth and dispelling negative energy: how to keep plecos

Nowadays many people like to keep fish at home, and there are many kinds of fish. Of course, each kind of fish has its own characteristics, and fishkeeping is also a kind of knowledge. Next, the editor will introduce a fish called the pleco and how to keep it.

Introduction to the pleco

The pleco, also called the pleco. Because its price is relatively low, its forehead has a sucker, and it cleans up around the bottom of the fish tank, it is often praised for cleaning the fish tank. Its place of origin is South America (Brazil, Venezuela), and its whole body is gray-black with black-and-white patterns. Because it has a sucker under its mouth, it is also called the sucker fish, garbage fish, and so on.

Most plecos are black, and they also like nighttime; at night they play and eat carefree. They do not like overly bright environments very much.

Changing the water

The water suitable for plecos can be weakly acidic soft water or neutral water, which is best. If conditions allow, the water quality is best if tap water is left to settle and then used after being exposed to the sun for 2 days. If well water is available, the effect is even better.

Plecos do not have high requirements for water. Just insist on changing the water once a week with the high-quality water source mentioned above. Of course, when changing it, keep one-third of the old water source in the fish tank, and then add two-thirds new water. Let the fish have an adaptable water source in which they can pray for health and not panic.

Water temperature

1. The suitable water temperature is 18°C-30°C. If the water temperature is lower than 18°C, it will cause the pleco to be listless, have no appetite, and easily cause other diseases.

2. If the weather is too cold and the air becomes cold, you must add a heater for the pleco. Remember that the heater also needs to be checked properly. If it is too hot, then add ice cubes to cool it down.

Choosing the fish group

If it is a fish tank at home, it not only has ornamental value, but also has the effect of attracting wealth and dispelling negative energy. Plecos will attack small fish or discus fish, so before choosing to keep them, be sure to check the relationships among the fish.

Number to keep

Because plecos like to come out at night, during the day they mostly stay at rest attached to the glass wall of the fish tank. And do not keep too many plecos in the fish tank, otherwise it is easy to cause vicious fights between fish, and even other fish may be eaten by them. For example, in a 1 m fish tank, it is recommended to keep about 2-4.

Requirements for the surroundings

The pleco looks very cold on the outside, but it is actually very gentle and likes wood very much. Therefore, placing some decorations such as driftwood in the fish tank will make it like it even more and feel more at ease. For example, wooden windmills, wooden blocks, and so on.

The pleco seems to be a quite diligent little thing, and it is very good to put it in a bathtub at home. When choosing a pleco, you should choose those with well-proportioned bodies, spirited eyes, and fast swimming speed as healthy ones.
