How to care for pothos: no excessive pampering, just attentive cultivation

How do you care for pothos? When it comes to growing pothos, this question always comes up. Without a clear understanding, planting can easily turn into destroying, wasting effort and snuffing out a life. However, pothos has very strong vitality, and growing it does not require excessive pampering, just attentiveness.

The difference between how to grow pothos and how to grow other plants is that, because it has aerial roots at its stem nodes, it is very easy to keep alive, and it grows fastest at 15°C to 25°C. Take water culture as an example

1. Change the water frequently. If you grow pothos in water, changing the water frequently is very necessary, generally once every two to three days, because pothos has extremely high demands on water quality, and adding nutrient solution is also a must, so that the pothos can shine.

2. Suitable temperature. The temperature for pothos to safely get through winter is above 10°C. At a room temperature above 20°C, pothos can grow normally. Too great a temperature difference will affect the growth of pothos. At the same time, be careful not to let the leaves get close to heating equipment.

3. Choosing the water quality. Use clean tap water or purified water to grow pothos; choosing the right water quality matters, because it contains a large amount of minerals.

4. Root trimming work. As for the roots of pothos, we need to clean them at intervals, and once the root system grows long, the roots need to be trimmed. If there are rotten roots, cut them off, so that the pothos can absorb nutrients better.

5. Spray water on the pothos regularly. Pothos likes a warm and humid environment, so pay attention: spray water on the leaves of the pothos at regular times to increase humidity. This is very beneficial to the growth of the pothos, and it can also serve to clean the leaves.

6. A moderate amount of light. Every morning you can put the pothos on the balcony or in a bright spot to supplement its light and carry out photosynthesis; only with sufficient scattered light will the leaves spread out and the leaf color be emerald green.

It can be seen from this that pothos care does not require us to spend too much effort. If it is grown in soil, you may even skip the regular cleaning of the roots, and it only needs sufficient water to grow smoothly.
