Fruit Selection and Making Methods for Fruit Pit Bonsai
In daily life, after eating fruit, many fruit seeds are left over. Fruit pits are actually very useful; some fruit pits can be made into bonsai to become a room decoration. So what fruits can be made into fruit pit bonsai? What are the making methods? Let me introduce them to you below.
The seeds mainly come from fruit eaten normally, and some vegetables also work. For example: pomelo, loquat, mandarin orange, lychee, longan, lemon, liu ding (Taiwan lemon), fresh lotus seeds, peanuts, dragon fruit, wampee, durian, taro, sweet potato... and so on. So next time after eating fruit, before throwing away the seeds, think twice! Find a pot, bury the seeds well, add a little care, and before long, you will harvest a small forest. Every seed has magical power!
Sprayer: essential for watering, because it is a pot without drainage holes, so do not pour water directly; it is best to use a sprayer, which is more even.
Plastic wrap: for some smaller seeds, after planting, seal the pot with plastic wrap so the seeds will not dry out too quickly.
Below, I will introduce the method for making longan bonsai:
Longan is actually very easy to grow. When eating longan, you might as well keep the pits and give it a try. Before soaking longan in water, the flesh and white soft tissue at the top need to be removed cleanly, otherwise it will easily attract insects later.
1. After soaking longan in water for two days, the shell has gradually cracked open, and the water needs to be changed every day.
2. After about one week of soaking, place them in the pot with the sprouting point facing up, arranged from outside to inside.
3. Spray water twice a day, and after one week they begin to sprout.
4. After more than ten days, the young sprouts begin to "compare heights."
5. After about one month, the small forest has grown. Can you connect it with the longan you ate?
6. The greatest ornamental point of longan bonsai is the color-changing leaves: new leaves are red, then turn yellow, and then turn green.
The above is the method for making fruit pit bonsai that I have introduced to you. As long as you are willing to get hands-on, there is no problem making fruit pit bonsai.
