Home care tips for Anthurium

Anthurium is also known as flamingo flower, laceleaf, and painter's palette. The flower emerges from the leaf cluster, just like a fiery red crane. The flower has a waxy texture and a long blooming period, and under suitable conditions it can bloom year-round. It is an emerging cut flower and potted flower variety internationally. Anthurium is native to a tropical rainforest climate, and its key cultivation points are:

Care of Anthurium

1. Temperature: The suitable growing temperature in summer is 20-25°C, and the overwintering temperature should not be lower than 15°C.

2. Light: 15000-25000lux (note: medium light) is suitable.

3. Water and humidity: The root environment of Anthurium requires moisture, not dryness, while also needing air permeability. High-quality Anthurium depends on a high-humidity environment. You should frequently mist its leaves to keep the ambient humidity at 70-90%.

4. Fertilizer: Anthurium needs high-potassium fertilizer.

5. Pests and diseases: Anthurium requires high temperature and high humidity, which also favors the occurrence of pests and diseases and increases the difficulty of disease prevention and treatment. The main ones are root rot, blight, and red spider mites, with the same prevention and treatment as above.

6. Quality and standards of Anthurium: Grade I has five spathes and a full plant shape; Grade II has three spathes; Premium grade mainly has seven spathes.

7. Propagation: Mainly asexual propagation through tissue culture; home cultivation commonly uses division propagation.
