How to Water Aloe Vera: Proper Watering Makes Aloe Grow Better

Many people grow aloe vera at home. Besides its ornamental value, aloe vera also has certain medicinal value and can be used when needed. When growing aloe vera normally, it needs to be watered regularly, and there is also a method to watering aloe vera, so how do you water aloe vera?

Although aloe vera has strong drought tolerance, it cannot go without water for a long time. Water should be given at the right time and in the right amount. Generally, water once every 15 to 20 days, and the leaf-spraying method can also be used. In summer, keep the surface of the potting soil moist; in winter, keep it appropriately dry, which helps the plant overwinter safely. In spring, as the temperature rises, when the temperature is 15 to 25°C, appropriately increase the frequency of watering, generally watering once every 5 to 7 days. Follow the principle of neither dry nor wet, and water thoroughly when watering, so that the potting soil alternates between dry and moist.
In summer, the temperature is high and evaporation is great, so water once every 2 to 3 days. Every morning and evening, spray water on the aloe leaves to keep the leaves emerald green. Also set up a shade shed to prevent exposure to the scorching sun, so as to reduce water loss from the potting soil and the plant. Watering requirements in autumn are similar to those in spring. The general requirement is neither dry nor wet. It is better to water a little less than to keep the potting soil in a state of excessive water saturation for a long time, so as to avoid oxygen deficiency in the aloe roots and cause the plant to die. The best time to water is early morning and evening, because at these times the water temperature is close to the potting soil temperature, which can avoid large temperature differences affecting the growth of the aloe root system.
For water quality, it is best to use rainwater or river water. This is because tap water contains relatively high chloride, and long-term use for watering will affect the growth of aloe vera. Some people use magnetized water for irrigation, which can promote the development of the aloe plant's root system, and the above-ground part also grows quickly, with emerald green leaves. Potted aloe enthusiasts can try it.
How do you water aloe vera? The method of watering aloe vera is just that simple. People who want to grow aloe vera in daily life should water it often, but they must grasp the degree and must not pour too much water at one time. At the same time, aloe vera also needs regular fertilizing, pruning, and so on.
