II. How to Plant Sulfur Cosmos Seeds
Sulfur cosmos is commonly propagated by sowing and by cuttings. After sowing, pay attention to thinning the seedlings in time. Propagation by sowing takes 7-21 days to germinate; germination is fast and uniform, and the optimum temperature for growth is 24°C. About 2 months after germination, it will bloom.
For sulfur cosmos propagation by cuttings, use soft shoots as cuttings in early summer, and they can take root 15-20 days after insertion. When the seedlings have 4-5 true leaves, pinch out the growing tips and transplant them or pot them. During the growing period, fertilize once every half month, but do not overdo it, otherwise the branches and leaves will grow excessively and flowering will be affected. After the plants grow tall, set up stakes to prevent lodging. The seeds mature successively and fall off easily, so they need to be harvested in time.
