Be Cautious When Buying Colored Cacti: Learn How to Identify Cacti
Cacti are said to ward off evil spirits in feng shui, and they can also protect against radiation; they even have edible and medicinal value. With so many uses, cacti have become one of the go-to houseplants. But how can you make sure the cactus you buy is full of life and won't die once you get it home? This article introduces one method for identifying cacti.
Let's take a look at two pots of cacti.

The cactus in the picture above has a tender green top and deep fuzz, and it looks full of life. You could say this is a live cactus with roots.
This cactus, on the other hand, has a bright red top. Look closely at the red, and it is not hard to see that although the color is vivid, it did not grow naturally but was added by someone. You can tell that this cactus is about to die and has no roots.
If we scrape off the coloring, we find that the part that was red is actually pale yellow. Clearly, this is a cactus that is about to die, and the red on top was created by human processing.
In fact, cacti are quite hardy and easy to keep alive. When buying, as long as you choose one that is full of vitality and then care for it attentively, it will surely reward you in the most beautiful way and give you a real sense of accomplishment. Never buy one rashly just because a cactus looks brightly colored, or your efforts may all be in vain.
