What Kind of Plant Is the Star of Bethlehem and an Introduction to Its Price
What is the Star of Bethlehem? The Star of Bethlehem, also known as sea onion, has an egg-shaped bulb that is green and can reach 10 cm in diameter, which is exactly how it got its name. The Star of Bethlehem also has ornamental and medicinal value, and is therefore loved by many households. So, how much does the Star of Bethlehem cost?
The Star of Bethlehem is a perennial herbaceous plant. Each time it grows a leaf, several small bulbils emerge on the outer skin of the bulb, shaped like tiger eyes, which is how it got the name Star of Bethlehem. Because its round bulb resembles a gourd, it is also commonly called gourd orchid.
The Star of Bethlehem can inhibit and kill systemic bacteria and viruses, activate immune cells, enhance immune function, and improve antiviral capacity; it is a pure Chinese herbal plant with no side effects or adverse reactions.
The Star of Bethlehem, like other species of Rohdea, is not difficult to grow, so it is said online that this plant is not worth much. A small pot of Star of Bethlehem generally costs around 5 yuan. Prices listed on several online shopping sites are all under 20 yuan, mostly between 15 and 17 yuan.
However, some also say that the price of the Star of Bethlehem depends on the size of its bulb; the larger the bulb, the higher the price:
Diameter Price
4-5cm 10-15 yuan
6-7cm 20-30 yuan
7-8?cm 30-45 yuan
9-10cm? 70-90 yuan
11cm 150 yuan
12cm 220 yuan
It can be seen that the Star of Bethlehem can also be highly valuable. If its bulb reaches a diameter of 12cm, its price is 20 times that of the smallest bulb. Of course, the price of the Star of Bethlehem also depends on the region, and prices in different regions will certainly differ. It may also depend on the season; during the season when the Star of Bethlehem reproduces vigorously, its price may be a bit cheaper, while after this period, its price may rise due to scarcity. In fact, friends who are interested can buy a small-bulb Star of Bethlehem on the market and grow it according to its growth habits, and perhaps turn a Star of Bethlehem worth about 10 yuan into one worth more than 200 yuan.
