Ruili Village in Meishan Township, which has the highest planting density of wisteria, is the most popular check-in spot on FB and IG. Along Chiayi County Road 166, there is a wisteria viewing spot on average every kilometer, with more than 20 spots along the entire route. Local operators say that this year the earliest blooming spots are at Huimingyuan Restaurant at the 79K mark of County Road 166 and the Ruili Impression Coffee Wooden Cabin B&B at the 79.5K mark. Hsu Yu-jen, Director-General of the Chiayi County Cultural and Tourism Bureau, said that the Wisteria Season is entering its 6th year this year. With the careful maintenance of the community, the wisteria in Ruili makes County Road 166 in March seem dyed with purple and blooming everywhere, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the romantic wisteria flowers. This year, the county government, together with the Alishan National Scenic Area Administration of the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, the Ruili Community Development Association, and the Chiayi County B&B Development Association, is jointly offering tea ceremonies beneath the wisteria flowers and a Ruili coffee roasting DIY experience. From March 1 to March 31, those staying at legal accommodations in Ruili Village can book a free experience with the B&B operators.

The Cultural and Tourism Bureau pointed out that wisteria blooms once a year, flowering in the pleasant spring climate, with strings of vivid purple flowers that are incomparably romantic. The flower language of wisteria, "intoxicating love, lingering longing," makes people feel an even stronger atmosphere of romance. The flowering period is about one month, and those who want to wander beneath a sea of purple flowers should seize this short blooming season.
