Growing flowers is becoming more and more popular now, but an important issue with growing flowers in the city is fertilizing. Organic fertilizers are nutritious, but they are rather troublesome: you have to make them yourself, and the fermentation time is relatively long. If you don't fertilize, it's easy for the flowers to grow poorly, fail to bloom, or even have drooping leaves. Today I'll share with you a method that only requires watering to keep your flowers growing strong and healthy.

1. Rice water

Rice water contains a certain amount of bran and a small amount of broken rice, and is fairly rich in trace elements such as phosphorus and nitrogen. Using rice water is very beneficial to the growth of flowers and plants. However, the selected rice and no-wash rice sold in stores contain very little of these substances, so the effect isn't as good. This is an important reason why many friends say that watering flowers with rice water has no effect for them.

The fermentation method is also fairly simple. Put an appropriate amount of rice water into a mineral water bottle, add a little orange peel or yogurt, cap the bottle tightly, and place it in a fairly warm spot. Generally it will ferment well in about half a month. After diluting the fermented rice water, you can use it directly to water the flowers.

However, when using rice water you need to pay attention: do not use unfermented rice water directly to water flowers, otherwise it can easily cause the potting soil to become compacted. For flowers with fleshy roots, and for flowers that have just been potted, do not use rice water either.

2. Fish tank water

The fish waste in fish tank water can be converted into organic fertilizer that flowers and plants can absorb. The content of organic fertilizer in the water is relatively low, so there's no need to worry about fertilizer burn, and it can be used to water flowers directly without fermentation. When using it, note that the difference between the water temperature and the soil temperature must not be too large; it's best to let it sit for a day before use. If the fish tank water frequently has medicine or salt added, it's best not to use it.

3. Soybeans

Soybeans are a great material for growing flowers. Previously we introduced that burying a few boiled soybeans in the potting soil can serve as fertilizer. In fact, we can also seal the water used to boil the beans together with the soybeans to ferment, just like fermenting rice water, and afterwards dilute it for watering with very good results.
