Growing flowers at home is nothing new these days. A few pots at home are a delight to the eye and can even purify the air, but they are only for looking at, not for eating. We can grow a few pots of fruit on the balcony, so we get to enjoy the display and eat fresh fruit too.

1. Coral Ardisia (Ardisia crenata)

The fruit of coral ardisia is round and about the size of a pea. It starts out pale green and turns bright red when ripe, holding its color for a long time and looking very beautiful. It has been a very popular indoor flowering plant in recent years; the bright red berries are mouthwatering and look very festive, bringing out a holiday atmosphere.

2. Passion fruit

Passion fruit, also called egg fruit, is a vine with unusual-shaped flowers that gardeners love. The fruit is sweet and refreshing with a slight tartness, and making it into juice is also a good choice. Keeping one pot at home lets you enjoy the display and eat delicious fruit too.

3. Blueberry

Blueberry is a perennial fruit with very high nutritional value. Buying them to eat is quite expensive, so we can grow a few pots on the balcony and then enjoy fresh blueberries. The plant is relatively short and compact and quite cold-hardy. It needs plenty of sunlight to grow, and you should choose a loose, airy, fertile organic soil.

4. Strawberry

Strawberry is a relatively easy fruit to grow, and its plants grow very sturdy and very large. Strawberries like light; with strong light the plants stay short and sturdy, the fruit is small, the color is deep and the quality is good, so growing strawberries requires ensuring plenty of light. In spring you can buy some strawberry seedlings, and growing them at home means you can eat strawberries. Personally, I suggest choosing the everbearing strawberry variety.

5. Kumquat

Kumquat is a very common fruit, easy to care for and bearing a lot of fruit. It prefers a warm environment with plenty of light; for soil, choose a well-draining, fertile, slightly acidic soil. It stays evergreen all year round with lush foliage and has very high ornamental value.
