Potted flowers grown for a long time are prone to soil compaction in the pot. Soil compaction is quite harmful and can seriously affect plant growth. 1. Apply more organic fertilizer

Nutrient soil and humus soil are prone to compaction after being used for a long time. Of course, the best solution is to change the soil. Add some fully decomposed organic fertilizer to the newly added soil. Besides adding organic fertilizer to the potting soil, we can also use semi-decomposed organic fertilizer as a top dressing. In this way, the semi-decomposed organic fertilizer continues to ferment on the surface of the potting soil, which will also make the surface of the potting soil looser. When watering, nutrients can also be carried into the potting soil, achieving two goals at once.

2. Water quality and vinegar

The water used for watering flowers is generally tap water, and most tap water is hard water, so long-term use of tap water for watering flowers easily leads to compaction. Before using tap water to water flowers, let it sit for two or three days before use. This can better avoid compaction.

In daily watering, we can also add one or two drops of vinegar to the water, which can better condition the water quality and reduce soil compaction. Usually, if you use fully decomposed rice washing water to water flowers, that is best. It can not only supplement nutrients but also reduce soil compaction.

3. Fertilizing

In daily fertilizing, try to use less compound fertilizer and apply more fully decomposed organic fertilizer. It is not only rich in organic matter and the nutrients needed for plant growth, but can also improve the soil and promote flower growth.
