Cacti can bloom too. Take a look at the conditions for making cacti flower

The cactus is a plant everyone is very familiar with. It enjoys the reputation of "sweet spring in the desert" and has an especially strong ability to resist drought. It is precisely because of the cactus's tenacious vitality and persistent willpower that even in a harsh environment like the desert, it can still produce beautiful flowers. However, when we grow cacti in daily life, it is not so easy to see them bloom. So people try every possible way, hoping the cactus can bloom as soon as possible. Today, the editor will explain to you the conditions for making cacti bloom earlier.

1. Light

Cacti like plenty of sunlight and ultraviolet rays, so light is a very important condition for cacti to bloom. If it is a season with little rain, try to place it outdoors, so it can receive better exposure and have a sufficiently ventilated environment, which is very helpful for the plant's vigorous growth and can also encourage it to bloom earlier.

2. Temperature

The optimal growing temperature for cacti is between 20-30 degrees, and it is best if the temperature difference between day and night is somewhat large, as this is beneficial to its growth. Be careful not to let it stay in a hot, stuffy environment all the time in summer, because if the temperature exceeds 35 degrees, its growth will slow down; in winter, the temperature should not be lower than 5 degrees, otherwise the cactus may freeze to death.

3. Soil

The soil for planting cacti is best kept somewhat loose and also nutrient-rich. You can buy some nutrient soil specially for growing cacti and similar plants, so as to help the plant absorb water and air and also encourage it to bloom earlier.

4. Water

Be sure to pay attention when watering cacti. Overwatering will cause its roots to rot and the plant to wither and die. From April to June, you can water once every 1 to 2 days. In July-August, when the temperature exceeds 38°C, the cactus will enter a dormant period. At this time, ventilation should be strengthened and watering should be controlled. As long as the potting soil is kept slightly moist and not excessively dry, that is enough. After the weather turns cool in autumn, resume normal watering. In winter, water normally only when the room temperature is above 15°C. If the room temperature is 5-10°C, then water once every half month. If it is below 5°C, do not water.

5. Fertilizing

During the cactus's growing season, proper fertilizing can promote its flowering. Once the temperature exceeds 32 degrees or falls below 20 degrees, do not fertilize anymore, to avoid burning the roots. For fertilizer, choose things such as chicken manure, bone meal, and cake fertilizer. After fully decomposing and diluting with water, pour it into the cactus pot. Be careful not to let the fertilizer fall on the leaves. You can also appropriately apply some 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate or triple superphosphate solution. However, newly planted cacti, poorly developed cacti, or cacti with poor growth must not be fertilized.

The above are the 5 conditions for encouraging cacti to bloom as early as possible. Friends who like growing cacti and want to see them bloom can refer to this. Cactus flowers mainly bloom on the areoles, and they generally bloom in spring. One of their great characteristics is that their flowers all bloom on mature flattened stems that have been fully exposed to sunlight. Therefore, you should let your cactus receive sufficient sunlight, and pay attention to controlling temperature, water, and fertilizer. Only in this way can you see them bloom as early as possible.
