What are the indoor bonsai plants? Recommended common varieties
Many friends place plants indoors, because on one hand this can decorate the interior, and on the other hand it can purify the air. Today I will briefly introduce indoor bonsai plants for everyone, let's take a look together.
Indoor bonsai plants
1. Golden pothos (Epipremnum aureum)
It is a shade-loving plant that likes hot and humid environments, avoids direct sunlight, and prefers shade. It likes soil rich in humus, loose and fertile, and slightly acidic. The overwintering temperature should not be lower than 15°C. There are many reasons that cause yellow leaves. The large, broad leaves have a very good visual buffering effect and play a good role in building a harmonious romantic relationship.
2. Silver King (Aglaonema 'Silver King')
A perennial evergreen herb, with an extremely short stem, plant height 40-50 cm, leaves densely clustered, 20-25 cm long, 5-7 cm wide, lanceolate, leaves dark green, the leaf surface densely covered with silver-gray patches, the leaf back grayish green. The petiole has grayish green spots, and the base of the petiole is sheath-shaped and clasps the stem.
3. Silver Queen (Aglaonema 'Silver Queen')
It is a perennial herbaceous plant. Plant height 30 to 40 cm, stem upright and unbranched, internodes obvious. Leaves alternate, petiole long, base enlarged into a sheath shape, leaves narrow and long, light green, leaf surface with grayish green stripes, relatively large area. It likes a warm and humid climate, is not cold-tolerant, likes diffused light, and especially fears direct sunlight in summer. It is not cold-tolerant; when the temperature drops to 10°C, insulation measures must be taken, and after freezing the whole plant rots.
4. Brazil iron (Dracaena fragrans)
An evergreen tree of the Liliaceae family, potted height 50 cm-150 cm, with branches. Leaves clustered at the top of the stem, 40 cm-90 cm long, 6 cm-10 cm wide, curved in an arch shape, bright green and glossy. Flowers small and inconspicuous, fragrant. It likes high temperatures; below 13°C the plant goes dormant and stops growing. It likes loose, well-drained soil, and is potted with leaf mold or peat soil.
5. Lucky bamboo (Dracaena sanderiana)
This is a kind of bonsai I especially like. It likes shade, humidity and high temperatures, is tolerant of waterlogging, has strong fertilizer tolerance, strong cold resistance, and likes semi-shaded environments. It can be made into many different shapes, a bit like the Transformers of the plant world.
6. Begonia
It likes warm, slightly shady and humid environments and moist soil, is not cold-tolerant, and fears dryness and waterlogging. Its requirement for growing space is relatively large, and the effect of potting is relatively average.
7. Sago palm (Cycas revoluta)
An evergreen palm-like woody plant, with a cylindrical stem, unbranched. The stem is densely covered with persistent leaf bases and leaf scars, and is scale-like. Leaves are arranged spirally, and the leaves grow from the top of the stem. There are 2 types of leaves, foliage leaves and scale leaves. The foliage leaves are pinnate and large, and the scale leaves are short and small. The leaflets are linear, rolled inward when young, later spreading upward at an angle, slightly forming a "V" shape, with the edges distinctly rolled downward, thickly leathery, hard, and glossy.
8. Black beauty (Aglaonema 'Black Beauty')
A perennial herb, with a low plant, only 5-10 cm tall. Leaves opposite, heart-shaped or broadly ovate, slightly wrinkled and curled, resembling black people's hair, hence the name. Mature plants grow in clusters, and the branches and leaves are dense and not easily messy. Black beauty is also an indoor air purifier, which can increase the oxygen ion content, and can also absorb a certain amount of harmful gases such as formaldehyde, sulfur dioxide and hydrogen sulfide in the air.
