Crackdown on prohibited pesticides launched in Dalingshan Town, Guangdong
Dalingshan Town in Guangdong strictly investigates prohibited pesticides
(Agricultural Wealth Network) Recently, the use of prohibited pesticides by vegetable farmers at vegetable production bases in Dalingshan Town has shown a rising trend. To crack down on this illegal behavior, starting from November, the town's agricultural department launched a "household-by-household search for prohibited pesticides in the fields" operation. Any prohibited pesticides, pesticides of unclear origin, and non-compliant pesticides found on vegetable plots are confiscated without exception.
Up to now, the fruit and vegetable testing station of the town's agricultural technology center has dispatched 30 person-days to search 152 vegetable farming households across 5 vegetable production bases covering about 1000 mu in its jurisdiction. During the search, staff seized a total of 8 bottles of isofenphos-methyl, 2 bottles of sulfallate 203 pesticide, 3 bottles of omethoate, and 6 bottles of pesticides with no labels and non-compliant pesticides.
