Freshwater fish species successfully introduced at an ecological farm in Beizhen, Jinzhou, Liaoning

    Recently, the Aquatic Product Seed Supervision and Management Office of Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, helped the Beizhen City Ecological Farm secure funding support from the Liaoning Provincial Department of Ocean and Fisheries, and introduced from Hubei Province 231 black carp (Mylopharyngodon piceus), sturgeon, bighead carp (Hypophthalmichthys nobilis), and grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) broodstock and backup broodstock for variety renewal and purification and rejuvenation, among which sturgeon was introduced in the Jinzhou area for the first time. The success of this introduction is of great significance for improving the aquatic germplasm resources of the Jinzhou area and raising the quality of fry and fingerlings.
