Disease in seawater cage aquaculture in Lianjiang County, Fujian shows signs of increase

As the water temperature gradually rises, in some fishery areas with concentrated aquaculture in Lianjiang County, bacterial diseases in some fish are gradually becoming active, and the incidence of disease in some aquaculture products has increased.

Recently, when aquatic technicians were monitoring diseases in Luoyuan Bay in the county, they found that some fish in cage aquaculture in Luoyuan Bay had been infected with parasites such as Cryptocaryon irritans, Trichodina, Benedenia, Brooklynella, Petalomonas, and nematodes.

According to the introduction, these diseases are mainly caused by too high a density of seawater cage aquaculture in some aquaculture areas, with seawater temperature maintained at 21.6-23.2°C, which is favorable for the growth and reproduction of parasites.

Technicians remind that the disease situation in the currently affected sea areas has not yet been effectively controlled, which may cause a large-scale outbreak of parasitic diseases in the above seawater cage aquaculture areas. Farmers should pay widespread attention, take preventive measures, and if necessary seek help as soon as possible from local aquatic technology departments to discuss solutions together.
