Tianjin fish pond "three-dimensional circular" integrated farming succeeds

At the aquaculture base in Qidongying Village, Sicundian Town, Wuqing District, a reporter saw that on the broad water surface, bamboo rafts had been used to build patches of "vegetable plots," and although they had been transplanted only a little over 10 days earlier, the vegetables had already grown tender green new shoots. Specifically: bamboo rafts are set up over fish ponds and shrimp pools, floating beds are used as carriers for planting, and the plants grown on the pond water surface are all aquatic leafy vegetables. The excrement of the fish and shrimp raised in the water is the best fertilizer for the vegetables, so fish farming and vegetable growing are both achieved without either being neglected.

According to technicians, this new three-dimensional circular integrated farming model was newly introduced from the south this year. The fish are both cold-water fish species, spotted pike and Tianshan dragon fish, introduced from **, and the shrimp are Chinese white shrimp; these fish and shrimp do not cause damage to aquatic plants. Second, the vegetables planted on the water surface occupy only 30% of the entire pond water surface, which ensures the supply of nutrients in the pond water body while also ensuring the normal growth of the fish and shrimp in the water. At present, this aquaculture base has 600 mu of shrimp pools and 100 mu of fish ponds, and vegetable planting on the water surface has reached 200 mu. Aquatic leafy vegetables yield about 1200 kg per mu per crop, and at least 6000 kg of fresh vegetables per season. The shrimp yield reaches 500 kg per mu, and the fish yield is 1000 kg per mu. At present, this farming model is being demonstrated and promoted in more than 300,000 mu of ponds across the city.
